Announcing the Mrs. Bush’s Story Time Podcast

From the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy

We are excited to announce the launch of Mrs. Bush’s Story Time, our new podcast for families featuring original recordings from the radio program of the same name.

Mrs. Bush’s Story Time, a radio program co-produced with the Philadelphia-based Children’s Literacy Initiative and ABC Radio, originally aired from 1990 to 1994, while Mrs. Bush served as First Lady of the United States. The new podcast—hosted by Honorary Chair Doro Bush Koch—features archival recordings of Mrs. Bush reading cherished children’s stories aloud with special guests like Winnie the Pooh, Daffy Duck, Elmo, and Grover, and celebrities including Oprah Winfrey and Alan Arkin.

The podcast also includes literacy tips from former First Lady Laura Bush and memories about childhood reading experiences shared by bestselling authors Delia Owens, Jesse J. Holland, Susan Orlean, and Eric Motley.

We recently shared more background on the podcast, including an exclusive interview with Mrs. Bush’s granddaughter, Jenna Bush Hager, with People magazine. We’re thrilled to continue preserving Mrs. Bush’s legacy while also sharing her love of reading with a new generation of families. You can visit www.barbarabush.org/podcast to listen and subscribe.
