On Sept. 4, Texas A&M University honored the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with the recreation of the 2001 Red, White & Blue game in College Station. Led by the student body leadership from the Student Government Association, Traditions Council and Maroon Out, special t-shirts were sold for the event and 110,000 attendees filled Kyle Field wearing red, white and blue. All proceeds went to benefit Points of Light and the Texas A&M Task Force 1, both of whom were activated in the response and recovery to the attack on Sept. 11, 2001.
From Natalye Paquin: “It was my first Aggie football game and I was inspired by the more than 100k Aggies cheering on the team. My only regret is that I wasn’t in town the night before to join the 30 thousand who showed up for midnight Yell practice. So good. Next time! “
